Absolute Zero is a PBS two-hour special TV program that follows the story of the harnessing of cold and the race to reach the lowest temperature possible. At this site, one can get a sense of scale by traveling from absolute zero to what may be the highest temperature of all. A matter of degrees lets you create your own temperature scale and then see how it compares to those of Fahrenheit and Celsius. Another fun option is playing The Ice Trade game, where you need to make a profit by dispatching ships loaded with natural ice to Florida, Brazil, or India.
